Bandcamp Player

What is Band+?

Band+ is a lightweight Chrome extension that brings Bandcamp controls to every tab in your browser. No more switching between tabs to pause, skip, or adjust volume on your music.

Band+ — Enhanced Controls for Bandcamp Player

Once installed, you can:

  • Pin the extension to your browser toolbar and access the Pop-up Player, or
  • Use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Y to open the Floating Overlay Player on any webpage you're browsing.

Pop-up Player

Access the Pop-up Player via the Band+ icon in your Chrome toolbar. It provides:

  • Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track controls
  • Mute button and Volume slider
  • Artist and Track information, Track progress bar, and Album cover display

How to Pin the Extension:

  1. Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of Chrome.
  2. Select Extensions → Manage Extensions.
  3. Locate Band+, click Details, then select Pin to toolbar.

Overlay Player

Activate the Floating Overlay Player with the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Y — available on any open webpage. Press the shortcut again to hide it, or press Esc to close the overlay across all tabs.

The Overlay Player includes:

  • Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track controls
  • Mute button and Volume slider
  • Artist and Track information

Important!

After installation, visit: chrome://extensions/shortcuts to confirm that Ctrl + Shift + Y is assigned to Band+.

🚀 Installation

From Chrome Web Store

  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store listing (coming soon)
  2. Click "Add to Chrome"
  3. Confirm the installation
  4. You're ready! Press Ctrl+Shift+Y on any page

Important Note: After installation, check chrome://extensions/shortcuts to ensure Ctrl+Shift+Y is assigned to Band+.

📖 How to Use

Open Bandcamp

Navigate to any album or track on Bandcamp and start playing music

Activate Overlay

Press Ctrl+Shift+Y (or Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac) on any tab to show the overlay player. Press Esc to hide it.

Control Playback

Use the overlay buttons to control your Bandcamp playback from anywhere

❓ Troubleshooting

Overlay not appearing?

  • Make sure you pressed Ctrl+Shift+Y (or Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac)
  • Check that Bandcamp is open and playing a track
  • Check chrome://extensions/shortcuts to ensure Ctrl+Shift+Y is assigned to Band+
  • Try reloading the Bandcamp page
  • Restart your browser

Play button not working?

  • Make sure a track is loaded in a Bandcamp tab
  • Try clicking play on Bandcamp first, then use the overlay
  • Check browser console for errors

Extension stopped working after update?

  • Reload all Bandcamp pages
  • Restart your browser
  • Check for extension updates in chrome://extensions/
