Tube+ is a lightweight Chrome extension that brings YouTube controls to every tab in your browser.

🚀 Installation

From Chrome Web Store

  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store listing (coming soon)
  2. Click "Add to Chrome"
  3. Confirm the installation
  4. You're ready! Press Alt+M on any page

📖 How to Use

Open YouTube

Play any video on YouTube

Activate Overlay

Press Alt+M on any page to show the mini player. Press Alt+M again or Esc to hide it.

Control Playback

Use the buttons to control your YouTube playback from anywhere

Optional: Enable History

Click the history icon and enable tracking to navigate between videos

View and manage your playback history

⚙️ History Feature

Disabled by default - you have full control over your data.

To Enable History:

  1. Click the history icon (clock) on the mini player
  2. Click "Enable History"
  3. Your recent videos will now be tracked (up to 20 videos, 10-day retention)

To Clear History:

  1. Open the history panel
  2. Click "Clear History"
  3. All stored videos will be deleted

To Disable History:

  1. Open the history panel
  2. Click "Disable History"
  3. This will also clear your existing history

❓ Troubleshooting

Overlay not appearing?

  • Make sure you pressed Alt+M
  • Check that YouTube is open and playing a video
  • Try reloading the YouTube page
  • Restart your browser

Play button not working?

  • Make sure a video is loaded and playing in a YouTube tab
  • Try clicking play on YouTube first, then use the overlay
  • Check browser console for errors

History not tracking?

  • Make sure you enabled history tracking in the history panel
  • Check that you're watching videos on YouTube (not embedded videos)
  • Try disabling and re-enabling history

Extension stopped working after update?

  • Reload the YouTube page
  • Restart your browser
  • Check for extension updates in chrome://extensions/

  • Drag and position: Drag the mini player anywhere on your screen - it remembers your preference
  • Quick toggle: Press Alt+M to show/hide or Esc for instant close
  • History navigation: Enable history to go back to previously watched videos
  • Multiple YouTube tabs: The extension automatically detects the active/audible YouTube tab
  • Privacy conscious: Leave history disabled if you don't need it - less data stored
