Data Collection and Storage

What Data We Collect

When history tracking is enabled (it's disabled by default), Tube+ stores:

YouTube video IDs (up to 20 videos)
Video titles
Timestamps of when videos were watched

Data Retention

History is limited to the last 20 videos
Videos are automatically deleted after 10 days
Combined limits ensure minimal data storage

How Data is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API
No data is transmitted to external servers
No personal information is collected (no names, emails, or browsing data beyond YouTube video history)
Data is not shared with any third parties

User Control

History tracking is disabled by default
Users must explicitly enable history tracking through the extension interface
Users can clear their history at any time
Users can disable history tracking at any time

Permissions

Storage Permission

Used to save:

Your playback history (when enabled)
Overlay position preferences
Extension settings

Scripting Permission

Used to:

Inject the mini player overlay into web pages
Control YouTube video playback

ActiveTab Permission

Used to:

Access the current tab to inject the overlay when you press Alt+M
Communicate with YouTube tabs for playback control

Host Permissions (youtube.com)

Used to:

Monitor video changes on YouTube
Control video playback
Track watch history (when enabled)

Data Retention Timeline

History is limited to the last 20 videos
Videos are automatically deleted after 10 days
Data persists until you clear it, it expires, or you uninstall the extension
Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data immediately

Children's Privacy

Tube+ does not knowingly collect any information from children. The extension does not collect personal information from any users.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
